We conduct our courses within the Rotorua Lakes District, providing the student with the greatest variety of conditions.
All required ground briefing time is included. Additional time and instruction is also available for students who require it.
Your training will be carried out in one of our well equipped Cessna 206 aircraft. The aircraft is a perfect floatplane training platform.
An opportunity may arise for you to experience other commercial tours on a spare seat availability basis.
Cost: $3,800 + GST
Additional information: While the CAA requirement is for five hours training, VAS have found very few Pilots will achieve their rating in this time. To optimize your training time you need to be current in your flying before you arrive here. Whilst not a pre-requisite, it does help if you have had some prior boating experience. We suggest that you prepare to be in Rotorua for around 5 days to complete the requirements; this is based on your skills and favourable weather conditions.
Volcanic Air Safaris is located on the shores of Lake Rotorua which is a three hour drive from Auckland City. A variety of accommodation venues are available in this tourism centre. Should accommodation be required as part of your stay, then please advise and we may be able to assist you.
