All prices are in NZ$, GST included; per person and all options require two adult fares to operate. Prices and trip details may change without notice and are subject to weather and volcanic activity. See our conditions pages for a complete list of all our terms and conditions.
How do I make a reservation?
A booking can be made online or by telephone. Volcanic Air's phones are manned 24/7 and we will respond to your email booking within24 hours. No payment is required until the day of departure. Click here to contact us now.
Are the prices per person or per aircraft?
Volcanic Air Safaris offer two products. Tours sold on a per person basis and charters are sold on exclusive aircraft. This is clearly stated on our website under each tour description.
What do I need to bring and what should I wear?
This depends entirely on what tour is chosen. If no landing or guided tour is chosen then no specific requirements are needed. For excursions where you are landing and/or undertaking a guided tour such as White Island, comfortable walking shoes and clothes appropriate to the conditions on the day. It is always a good idea to bring a light jacket, water, sunscreen and of course your camera!
Do you offer a courtesy pick up service?
Volcanic Air Safaris offer courtesy transport with the Rotorua CBD with the exception of tour 1 and 2.
Can we use our cameras and cell phones during the flight?
You are welcome to take cameras on the aircraft, and cell phones are permitted unless otherwise stated.
How long should we arrive before our flight is due to depart?
We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the flight is due to depart.
What time do the flights leave?
Flights depart on demand providing we have achieved minimum numbers.
Are you based at the airport?
Our helicopters reside at the Rotorua Airport but depart for flights from the Rotorua City lakefront as do the floatplanes.
How many people can fit in a floatplane or helicopter?
We have a range of aircraft catering from a minimum of two adult fares. The type of helicopter or floatplane is subject to passenger numbers flying on the day unless chartered on an exclusive basis.
Public Holidays:
Volcanic Air Safaris operates 365 days of the year with the exception of Christmas Day (25 December).
Volcanic Air Safaris operate:
0830 - till 1900 (summer season) - 0900 - till 1700 (winter season).
Children's Prices:
Under 2 years are free: 2-11 years pay 75% of the adult fare 12 years and older pay adult fare.
